                           Teachings for the Times

Revelation through the Prophets changes with the needs of the time in which
                         each Manifestation appears.

This simple reality explains much of the differences between the various religions.
Each Prophet- Manifestation of God has built on the teachings of the Holy Ones who went before Them.

All the religions are as chapters in the same Book of Spirit.
Each of the great Masters taught to the needs and abilities of the historic era in which They lived,
that is why there is variation in Their teachings, and some things which to us
today seem strange.

       A Clearer Understanding

This idea of "progressive revelation" as described above helps me understand and forgive what has seemed harsh or problematic in some of the older scriptures I have found so hard to swallow.
With a historic view and new understanding, confusing issues of the faiths of the past become less incomprehensible, and their variations more tolerable. The spiritual writings make greater sense than when they are seen in in the context of their time. For this reason, each Prophet over- writes certain older laws and customs.

    Modern Spiritual Teachings
The idea of “progressive revelation” has been
explained in detail by Baha'u’llah, spiritual Teacher
of the 19th century. He is considered by Baha'is
as the Manifestation of God for our modern age.
Baha'u’llah's teachings speak to the current times, and
can help us to understand the panorama of the scriptures
   of time.

To Unite & Connect the Hearts in the Oneness of all Faiths...
The Baha’i Faith most particularly studies the scriptures of all faiths, as written in their teachings. The Prophet- Founder Baha'u'llah taught the oneness of God, the religions, and all humanity. His works inspire these pages.    For more on these teachings, visit Bahai.org
